Past recipients are encouraged to reapply.
This award cannot fund programs retroactively. If you have already completed a program it is not eligible.
Members of the Don Snider “Go Wildly Forward” Scholarship Committee, Edmonton Folk Music Festival Board Members, and Staff and their immediate family members are not eligible to apply.
There will be no appeal process. Once decisions have been made all of the money will be allocated and changes will not be possible.
The Awards Panel will review applications and select award recipients by the end of June of each year. Candidates will be advised of the status of their application by email in early July. In general, student programs should not start before August 1. Applicants are invited to re-apply for this award in subsequent years whether or not their application is successful.
Before an award is confirmed, you may be asked for an interview or additional documentation.
Awards are intended to assist recipients with mandatory costs such as tuition and fees. For students with severe financial constraints or unique circumstances, awards may be provided to assist with costs related to attending school, such as books, supplies, and childcare.
Awards will not be confirmed until all conditions are met.
It is the responsibility of the recipient to adhere to all regulations of the accepting post-secondary institution regarding all fee payments and to ensure that registration and/or enrollment status is not jeopardized. In particular, fee deadlines may impact students prior to award confirmation. Students are also responsible for all expenses not covered by the award, in accordance with institution payment deadlines. No part of any award issued by the Edmonton Folk Music Festival can be applied to amounts owing from previous years.
Awards can be used at any public university, college, or technical institute in Alberta, as well as at any private institution or vocational school accredited by Alberta Advanced Education and Technology. For schools outside Alberta, institutions must be equivalently accredited.
An applicant’s program of study must lead to a recognized degree, applied degree, diploma, certificate or licence.
